What a great memory and it wouldn’t have been possible (so soon, anyway) without the Internet.

    Thanks, Bob!

I cried when I heard Stevie Ray Vaughn died, and I feel just as sad about Jeff Healey…I remember feeling embarrassed about crying because I heard the news while in my mother’s living room. She told me she understood how I felt and then I remember how she cried when Elvis died. I’m babbling sorry, I just feel sad.

That really is an awesome video.

Thanks Karen – I remember exactly where I was when I heard SRV died…we were hanging at a friends house, the “Texas Flood” cd was playing, and a friend of our’s showed up with the news that SRV had been in a crash.. A few of us (guitarists mostly) were speechless and unable to resume our normal day without listening to all the cd’s..

We were covering a few SRV tunes in the band I was in around that time, and it may seem hokey, but we never coasted through “Couldn’t Stand the Weather” again..

I know it sounds trite, but great artists like Jeff and SRV live forever if performances like the one here are preserved. I defy anyone to watch and listen to this video, and not be in awe at such a white-hot blues performance.

I’d like to think that somehow, somewhere, they’re playing together now, laughing and trading guitar licks …
