Sit on the floor

Which word don't you understand?

Yup. That’s exactly what you’re supposed to do at this weekend’s Podcamp Ottawa. This brainchild of my CPB partner in crime Mark Blevis is an effort to get back to the “roots” of the Podcamp spirit, and it’s going to be great.

The idea is to make it about conversations, not presentations. As soon as podiums and chairs are setup, the dynamic of a room is set. Mark avoided this by having no chairs at all, and suggesting that attendees “bring a pillow or blanket so you have something to sit or lie down on”.

I’ll be facilitating a workshop on Audacity, where we’ll take some audio and see what happens. Audacity is multi-platform, free, and a great audio production tool.

Attendance is not limited to those who live in Ottawa, so if you’re available this Sunday November 25th, join these fine people and sign up! (there’s even a draw for some FREE GEAR, but I’ll let you read about that on the wiki)

What I love most about this is that it’ll be the first implementation of some of what came out of the circle conversation. I look forward to hearing how it all goes down. I wished I could come up, but it’s our Thanksgiving weekend, so that’s not going to happen.

Enjoy the hell out of it guys. Write good notes. : )
